IFSM medal nominations deadline extended to July 1, 2025

Dear colleagues,

The deadline for nominations for the IFSM Medals has been extended to July 1, 2025. These prestigious awards will be presented in 2026 at the International Microscopy Congress (IMC21) in Liverpool, UK.

Nominations are now open for the following awards, which recognize outstanding contributions by individual scientists in the field of microscopy and related techniques:

i. Diffraction Physics and Microscopy - The John Cowley Medal
ii. New Developments in Optics and Instrumentation - The Vernon Cosslett Medal
iii. Applications in Physical Sciences - The Hatsujiro Hashimoto Medal
iv. Applications in Life Sciences - The Eduard Kellenberger Medal  

Please note that the awards cannot be divided; hence, each award will recognize a single nominee in the specified field. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Nominations may be submitted by all national and regional societies, as well as by individuals with expertise in the field.
