  • Highly experienced tutors – focus on hands-on training

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the 5-day practical course “Transmission electron microscopy in life sciences”.

The course is aimed at beginners and intermediate users of transmission electron microscopes. After the course, participants will understand the principles of construction and function of transmission electron microscopes and will receive extensive practice during hands-on sessions on transmission electron microscopes of varying complexity.

The participants are encouraged to bring their own samples on TEM grids for imaging at room temperature.

A brief theoretical overview of sample preparation methods, and demonstration of cryoTEM method is a part of the course, as well.

The course will be taught in English.

The course is organized by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague and will take place from 30 November to 4 December 2026.

Favourable registration fees are set due to the support by the Czech-BioImaging.

We look forward to your participation!

On behalf of the organizers,
