EUROPEAN MICROSCOPY SOCIETY (EMS)

EMS MEMBERS

The European Microscopy Society is composed of individual members and corporate members. Any microscopist, whether or not a member of a national society for microscopy in Europe, is eligible for membership of the European Microscopy Society. Any company producing and/or selling products used in the field of microscopy, can become a corporate member.

Membership fee

The EMS individual membership fee is presently set at Euro 25. However, EMS strongly encourages en-bloc membership of national or regional societies for microscopy, whereby every member of the national or regional society becomes a member of EMS. In this case, the EMS membership fee is set at Euro 5 for each member of the respective national or regional society and the total amount covering the EMS membership of its members is transferred by the society to EMS once a year (in exceptional cases during a transition period, societies can choose for a partial en-bloc system: for more detail on the membership please see the constitution). At present, already 24 national or regional societies within Europe have decided to participate in this concept of en-bloc membership !

So, if you want to become an individual member of EMS we suggest you check with your national or regional society first to see if they have adapted the EMS en-bloc membership. If so you can choose between joining EMS through your local society or you can still contact EMS directly for individual membership. If your local society is one of the few that do not participate in the en-bloc concept, please do contact EMS directly to complete your individual membership.

Corporate membership fees can be found on the ECMA page.
